The game of baseball to a novice is just a field, players, bat, glove, ball and bases. Someone throws a ball at you that you try to hit with a bat in order to see how far you get around the bases before you get tagged out. Everytime you do you get a score. Everytime you tag someone out you could prevent a score. As with most games the highest score in the end wins!! Simple enough it seems. Baseball in of itself has many aspects relative to life itself. Understand baseball better and you understand life better. The book "The Code" explains in very simple terms the rules that are "behind the scenes". Sometimes plays happen in baseball that are difficult to understand. Why does a player takes a strike when bases are loaded or when then are behind late in the game? It does not make sense to the average fan yet there is a logical reason for it. The book allows a person to enjoy the game more as some of the mystery behind why things happen as they do are revealed. The book is an easy read with few words and great illustrations making it fun to read as well. Who knows you might know more than some experts after you read it!!
