The Clockmaker's Rules: The Eleven Rules of an Old Clockmaker - A Novel of Starting Over

By G. De La Cruz

He built an app to save people time. It cost him everything that mattered.

Nate Corbin has one speed: faster. His startup, VELOCE, promises to give people their lives back by stripping away everything that slows them down-and it's about to make him a fortune. Then, in a single catastrophic afternoon, the life he optimized so carefully comes apart at the seams.

What's left is an apprenticeship in a dim repair shop under Henrik, a silent, exacting old clockmaker. Henrik won't hurry. He offers only eleven rules of the craft-and the patience to let Nate fail his way toward understanding them. As the seasons turn, and a long-stopped clock waits on the bench, Nate discovers that some things cannot be optimized-only honored-and that it is never too late to begin again.
