In a world where an oppressive government known as "The Regime" purges children with medical conditions, a woman named Eliora finds herself at the center of a spiritual war. Haunted by her past and lost to addiction, Eliora begins to experience vivid visions of a boy named Gabe, who carries a worn Bible and delivers cryptic messages.
Guided by these divine encounters, Eliora is led to a group of children the Regime has marked for "cleansing". In a pivotal moment, she rescues a young girl and finds a hidden resistance network led by a woman known as Lovelady, who operates a safe house for children targeted by the Regime. Eliora joins their fight, smuggling medicine from the northern border where they can receive the medical care denied to them by their own government.
As Eliora embraces her new purpose, she is pursued by an unlikely foe: Silas, a high-ranking Regime captain who is a ghost from her past. The story weaves together their intertwined paths, forcing both Eliora and Silas to confront their pasts and their roles in a future they never imagined.
