Brigitte Gustoevna Legher is a dancer in a country at war with itself in pre-Revolutionary Russia. She has a perfect turnout, perfect physical proportions, and a mysterious sponsor paying to mold her into a prima ballerina absoluta for the Imperial Ballet.
