Perfect gift for a 40th birthday

I just turned 40 on the 23rd, but on the 22nd my pre-ordered copy of Adam's book was in my hands...it was my present to myself. What better gift to give on this most momentous of days, than a collection of inspirations, dedications and accomplishments. There's not a lot of Adam's writing here, but he has managed to bring together an astounding collection of the most memorable speeches by some truly extraordinary men. These giants of the gridiron need little introduction to the football fan, but even a novice to the sport will come away from this book feeling inspired, energized and ready to tackle anything life throws at them. (football pun intended) For the avid football fan, this collection of remarks made on the hallowed podium at Canton give a glimpse into the heart and soul of each man, drawn straight from their own words and from the introductions by their presenters. The Class of Football by Adam Schefter

I just had the pleasure of reading "The Class of Football" by Adam Schefter. I received the book on Friday and had already read all 315 pages by Sunday afternoon. It's appropriately stated "Edited by Adam Schefter" because the book is a compilation of the best speeches by footballs greatest on their day of Induction to the Hall of Fame. It also includes the presenters words. This book was exactly what I needed the week leading up to training camp. I was finding myself sick of the same old stories about Favre and Vick. Reading this reminded me of what is great about pro-football and most of it's players. If you like the "history" of football this book is for you, it also has a nice appendix that list enshrines by year of induction. No matter what you do in life you can learn from and draw inspiration from these speeches. In a world about "me me me" it's amazing that none of the speeches are, they're about the people that helped them get there and the lesson learned along the way. My opinion, it's a must read for everyone, not just football fans. David R. Prince
