The year 1850 of our Lord and 13th year of Queen Victoria's iron reign. It was a year when the foul smells coming from The Thames could cause a man to choke up his lunch during a casual afternoon stroll. Also, it was a time when the vile murders of a certain young and wicked lady-killer, who history would dub the greatest of Britain's serial killers of the time, had just got into full swing. Finally, this was also, most importantly, the year that two young country bumpkins on the run from the local rural law found themselves on the off-kilter, unsteady, feces stained streets of the City of London - wide eyed, a little afraid, and yet deeply and undoubtedly excited by what they saw around them.

Rough times and even rougher choices will be a part of their lengthy stay in London as both attempt to walk their individual paths while seeking their freedom and fortune as they do. However, The City wants more from these two able-bodied, clever young lads and they will soon find themselves back together again facing the kind of challenges that make a lad into a man.
