This book was a good start in peeling back paternalism and male privilage in Catholicism. Though not going as far as the awsome 'Beyond God the Father'. Daly especially has no time for the 'mental contortionism' involved in trying to rehash Pauline texts in any acceptable feminist form; she makes no compromises, if it doesn't work toss it out. Indeed her indictment of Ephesians is spot on. Husband love your wives, but not enough to recognize thier autonomy, instead cultivate a patronizing attitude! Bravo Mary Daly for taking on the author of such gems as -I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent (Timothy) Bravo! Bravo Mary Daly
