Heard A Version of this Before

I love Melody Carlson’s books. But I really struggled with this one. Its a supposed positive and upbeat version of an original plot line. But too much like Stephen King’s Needful Things. Too similar a plot line, even in a supposed good way. Not very Christmasy to me or faith filled until the last chapter.

A cute read!

Susanna Elton is on the city council. Tommy Thompson owns the town newspaper. As they begin to get to know each other, they found they can't agree on one thing. Matilda Honeycutt, the new shoppe owner in town. It seems like she's opened a thrift store, but no one's for sure. She seems to know exactly what everyone needs to help them get over past hurts and move on. Will the town succeed in running Matilda out? This is a cute little story and I enjoyed getting to know the characters.

Very heartwarming and magical
