Many believe that the Bible, the Torah and the Koran represent the most horrendous, cold-hearted, cruel and profoundly disturbing, intolerant writings produced by mankind. The willingness to torture and slaughter men, women and children, and savagely brutalize all their animals in the name of a just yet merciful God, strikes them as outright criminal. "The Lord works in mysterious ways" and the doctrine of "Free Will," are considered mere excuses as to not hold God accountable for the chaos humans have created. To what end does a just but merciful God let this happen? So that Mankind can be purified by punishment, before being admitted into Heaven? There are those who have tried while reading sacred texts, to suspend their disbelief, however within a matter of moments, conceptual roadblocks rapidly following one after another, preventing them from casting their disbelief aside.
