Here's a strong cure for "Monday Morning Mulligrubs"-those attitudes and irritations that make secular employment seem something less than God-sent, illuminating the place of the Lord as ruler over... This description may be from another edition of this product.
My brother in law gave me a copy of this book several decades ago telling me that it was "the best book I ever read outside of the Bible." This was unusual praise, especially for an electrical engineer not noted for strong statements. During a periodic bout with work trouble, I read this book. I found it really slow going at first but eventually I caught on to what the author was saying. This book helped me weather that crisis, and the next and the next down through the years. I read it so many times that my original copy literally fell apart so I bought a new copy. Each iteration of re-reading this book deepened my understanding of the work environment, how God is in complete control of my circumstances, and therefore my attitude should be one of cooperative and enduring trust. Over time I found myself becoming a better and better employee and a more mature Christian as the lessons of this book worked their way deep into my life, paying dividends for all aspects of living. I have bought several additional copies, giving them away to family members telling them that "it is the best book that I ever read outside of the Bible" -- exactly what my brother in law originally told me. When this book went out of print, I wrote to the publisher to get the remaining copies in their warehouse. I gave those away, keeping only three copies, one locked in a safe for my children/grandchildren and the other two being loaned out during the subsequent 15+ years. Just now my brother pointed out that it is finally back in print -- perhaps my letters requesting that to happen finally paid off? I'm now almost 56 and I've read this book through a minimum of ten times during many life crises -- by no means all work related. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to become a better employee, a better co-worker, a better friend, a happier person, or a more mature Christian. --Eric Fleischman

I am delighted to see that this book is still available. My copy is so dog eared and worn from its multiple readings that I need a fresh copy. I am also delighted that I can now tell others where they can purchase this classic. I have read almost every book that has been published on this topic, and this is head and shoulders above most of them. It contains practical examples and illustrations, and cuts across all economic strata. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking to know God's plan for the workplace and the employees in it.
NEVER FEAR

This is the best book I have ever read on the workplace. This book will help you relate Biblical truths about Nehemiah, the "Contractor", and Joseph, the "Government Offical", to your day-to-day work experience. This book affirms why you should place your confidence in God at work and discusses His purposes and your relationship with peers, employers, and customers in a way that will totally change the way you approach your job. It is a fast and compelling MUST READ.
Excellent books for all Christians in the workplace

This book combines sound theology with practical advice. One outstanding feature is the use of the life of Joseph (and the several down/up cycles he experienced) to illustrate principles relevant to our situation today in the workplace. While the book is an enjoyable read, it can shake your convictions about work. A major thesis is you are in the workplace to be God's ambassador. Highly recommended. Get multiple copies so you can loan it out.
