The Chosen Ones: From a California Prison

The Chosen Ones are eight men who live in a California prison and came together to share portions of their journey through trauma and criminality to change for their futures. They wrote to heal and also, to some degree, to reclaim control over their narrative. This project, supported by Walk In Those Shoes, 501(c)3, is an illustration of what individuals can accomplish when offered a creative writing program, reflecting on past behavior and experiences and also setting and achieving goals. The Chosen Ones is their canvas, the product of eight men coming together to share parts of their story.
