The Children Sojourner *Foothill Farm Life 1st * The Mouse Family It was a very cold winter day when Father Mouse and Mother Mouse bundled up their family of hungry little Mouses and left Farmer Browne's corn field where they lived. They were field mice, and it was their lot to live in fields, sometimes on a farm and sometimes other places. Normally, this is OK. But Farmer Brown and Mother Brown were getting older and they were quite poor. So, this year it was all they could do to grow enough corn and wheat for their needs. That autumn, they harvested what they could and left the rest for those creatures who lived in the field. This meant the Mouses, and the Gophers that lived a few rows of corn away.
