Great Review

I had to get another review book required, I think it may have been a Saunders? Anyways it sucked. Later on with a review course I took I got this Chicago Review one. I loved it. The chapters are segmented into body systems, and has a review in three easy sections So lets say we are in the cardiovascular review it would review - anatomy (ex:valves, blood flow)/pharmacology(ex:nitro or dig)/med-surg disease(ex:MI, CAD). Then it asks you the questions. I thought it interesting, and easy to delve into. My other book had print after print after print, it wasn't easily approachable. Now that I am taking my last semester of RN school, Im actually looking for the companies RN book if they have it! That's how I came upon this review ;)

HELPFUL!

THIS BOOK IS NICE BECAUSE IT PROVIDES A BREIF REVIEW OF EACH SUBJECT/SYSTEM PRIOR TO THE REVIEW TEST...THE REVIEW IS SHORT, SWEET & TO THE POINT...JUST ENOUGH TO GO OVER THE BASICS...I ALSO FOUND THE CD ROM TEST HELPFUL...IT SCORES THE TEST AS YOU GO...BOTH THE CD & BOOK HAVE RATIONALS AS TO WHY THE ANSWER IS CORRECT/INCORRECT...OVER ALL THIS WAS A GREAT TOOL TO STUDY FOR MY NCLEX (WHICH I PASSSED!!!)

It worked for me!

While this book was not helpful for another reviewer, it saved my butt on the NCLEX-PN. It's a quick o-view of each classification, common drugs and their actions. No, it won't teach you pharmacology - that's what class was for. But it's an excellent, simplified review for the NCLEX. The questions on the included CD were almost word for word the same questions, I got on the NCLEX. While I only had the minimum questions on the NCLEX (85), at least a dozen were drug-related. And I passed :-) I've recommended this study guide as an adjunct to any other NCLEX review CD to all my classmates and other students. It's the only NCLEX review book I kept after passing the NCLEX because it's a quick reference guide.

study helper

i really enjoyed the book and thought that the questions were excellent in that they gave you the rational for the answers, however i could not get the disk to work in my computer that has windows 98, it kept asking for a second disk.
