Great Book for Cat and Doll Lovers of any age

This is a recent sequel to the wonderful book, "The Doll Shop Downstairs." The story takes place on the lower east side of New York before WW One. A delightful family of Jewish immigrants run a doll repair shop and live in an apartment above the shop. When the war begins, they can no longer get parts to repair the delicate porcelain dolls, and must find a new way to survive. They do succeed by working together. The sequel continues with charming stories of this loving family, with strong Jewish traditions combined with a desire to become Americans. The book can be read by children 8 and over, but younger children will love to be read to. A perfect bedtime story, especially for little girls who love their dolls.
