It's two weeks before Christmas on magical Madrona Island, and Cait and Cody are busier than ever. Between preparing the children of Saint Pat's for the annual Christmas pageant and planning a spectacular Christmas Eve celebration at Mr. Parsons' mansion, the holiday season is off to a joyful start.

But the festive spirit takes a dark turn when a Grinch-like vandal begins targeting the island's Christmas decorations. What first appears to be a series of harmless pranks quickly escalates into something far more sinister when an explosion destroys the Santa House in the park-and leaves Santa dead.

Determined to uncover the truth, Cait and Cody, along with their friends, set out to track down the killer. With help from Jingles, the newest feline arrival on the island, they soon discover that when it comes to Christmas-and the powerful emotions it stirs-nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

Meanwhile, life moves forward in other ways. Cait and Cody take in Cody's young nephew while his father is deployed overseas, Maggie and Michael return to town, and Cait prepares to say goodbye to the cabin she's called home for the past decade as she and Cody begin a new chapter together.
