Rod McKuen is one of the most talented poets/writers of his and any generation. A prolific songwriter with over 1500 songs to his credit, his musical range is from the classical to soft rock. Given that people from Frank Sinatra to Madonna have sung his lyrics, if you listen to music, you are familiar with the work of McKuen. This book is a collection of gentle poems about the spirit of Christmas. Some have a religious theme, others are secular and all deal with what Christmas should be about. It should be a time of peace, security and good will, not about the sound of cash registers beeping. McKuen captures the heart and joy of Christmas in a collection of work that is timeless, both across the years and through any time of a specific year.
