The Carling: Stories and Poems

The Carling is a collection of short stories and poetry I wrote while living at the old SRO hotel on N. LaSalle St. At the time - I was in the throes of alcohol and heart attacks. I was producing comedy shows in Chicago called Old Town Clowns. I performed as a clown and lugged my PA to and from the shows - terrifying my neighbors. I got banned from most of the bars in Old Town. My writings reflected my world - lost loves, clown antics, barroom brawls and post heart surgery dementia. I desperately tried to avoid death - and apparently I succeeded.
