Candidiasis is a contamination brought about by Candida parasites, particularly Candida albicans. These growths are found wherever in the earth. Some may live innocuously alongside the plentiful "local" types of microorganisms that regularly colonize the mouth, gastrointestinal tract and vagina.
Ordinarily, Candida is monitored by the local microscopic organisms and by the body's insusceptible barriers.
