Captain Robert Cole crashes his helicopter into the Atlantic trying to get medical help for Captain Ed Long, who was injured in an explosion aboard the sailing yacht The Spirit of Jeremiah. And the Mayday was answered by an old freighter named Happy, which was hauling a cargo of 450 tons of an unusual cargo. The old freighter was one of those liberty ships built in 1943 and is still hauling materials on the high seas today. As it approached them in their life raft, Robert asked, "What's that smell?" Then there's the oil company that Captain O'Malley works for delivering materials in and out of remote locations around the islands. Bob Bendigo, vice president of the oil company, finds out about a plot to kidnap Henry Fox, the owner of American Oil of Dallas, and sends him from Dallas to Oklahoma City where he can fly him to safety. But on the way, Henry's wife is driving an old Ford truck without license plates and is stopped by the Oklahoma Highway Police, and the adventure really gets started because Henry is a little hotheaded The adventure continues, and the trouble this bunch gets into-the Lord only knows This is the second book in the trilogy.
