A beautiful and fortunate bird known as a Bundersnooper alights on a branch of a forest tree, displeased with the sudden loss of one of its feathers. The lost feather falls away and serves as a shelter for less fortunate baby creatures below on the forest floor huddled to keep dry as a rainstorm approaches. The mother of the babies extols the virtues of the Bundersnooper, whose loss unwittingly protects her offspring from rain. The Bundersnooper, hearing the mother's praise, is made aware of the value of its loss for those less beautiful and fortunate and flies away with a changed perspective. The story is offered to illustrate how wealth is relative and may reveal itself, at times, unexpectedly and unintentionally.
