Book Overview

The Buln-Buln And The Brolga is a children's book written by Tom Collins. The story is set in the Australian bush and follows the friendship between a Buln-Buln, a small bird with a beautiful song, and a Brolga, a tall and graceful bird known for its dance. The two birds become unlikely friends and spend their days exploring the bush, singing and dancing together. However, their friendship is threatened when a bushfire destroys their habitat and they are forced to find a new home. The Buln-Buln and the Brolga must work together to overcome the challenges they face and find a new place to call home. The book is beautifully illustrated and teaches children about the importance of friendship and working together to overcome obstacles. The most direct route to my sylvan destination was along one of the main streets; but, for reasons of my own, I dodged round by the back slums. Frankly, it is not a bit nice for a man of position to walk down a respectable thoroughfare, nodding to his acquaintances with dignified composure, when a backward glance has disclosed his kangaroo dog dawdling along at his heels, lithe, svelte and spirituelle, with about ten pounds of stolen sausages hanging festooned from his mouth, and tripping him up from time to time. But Pup couldn't eat the sausages without stopping; so, when we reached the outskirts of the town, I took them from him, and, sitting down on a stump, cut the isthmuses with my knife, in order to help him to them one by one. Then, after a mutual caress, we resumed our way to the romantic nook that I wotted of.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
