Having seen The Brothers Booth performed live on stage, I find this book to be a rare convergence of humor, humanity, and wisdom. It has a compelling storyline: by recovering the particular conditions that led to Lincoln's assassination in 1865, the reader is led deep into the heart of a universal condition. Brothers Booth take readers onto a higher plane--it's at this level that we feel inspired, provoked, and alive. This book reinterprets ordinary history in a way that enables the reader to see into the mind and motives of John Wilkes Booth, in much the same way as Shakespeare saw into Julius Caesar. Having said this, be warned that Brothers Booth will not reward a casual reading; it requires careful attention to unlock its treasure--a fact that makes the book even more amazing.

I had the luck of being taught Philosophy from this man at Sam Houston State Univeristy. I have yet to read or see this play, but I look forward to reading it as soon as I possibly can. I have heard that this play is amazingly philosophical and amazingly wonderful. It played to amazing reviews in it's world premire production. If you are looking for something that is wonderfully well written, and full of great insights then this should be right up your alley! I highly recommend this play. The author is one of the most brilliant men in the world.
