Heartwarming!

This book warmed my heart during the snowy December week I read it. Lisa Bergren's characters have real problems that we can identify with. Lisa gives not only her characters the answer to their problems, but hope for all of us going through difficulties in our lives. She weaves the love of God throughout her story without sounding preachy. I loved the story's setting. It made me long for summer and bare feet.

I couldn't put it down!

As all of Lisa Tawn Bergren's books this was another great story. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It is a wonderful story connecting the past to the present. Lisa creatively weaved the love God has for all of us throughout the generations. She describes the Montana countryside so wonderfully, it will make you want to spend your summer there! Can't wait for Lisa's next book!!

For those who need to cross a bridge in life.

The Bridge is a powerful story that addresses the desire to deal with the past and to cross the bridge that will lead to the cross of Christ. The story is filled with real life, real people and real human need. Meet Jared and Eden and be amazed by the mercy of God, the power of love, and the freedom, given by redemption, from the past. You will laugh, you will cry and will end the story with a sigh of contentment and a deep sense of God's enduring love.

Bergren creates memorable characters, spiritual allegory

The Bridge is everything a Christian novel should be. It's provocative, and spiritually insightful without being preachy. The characters grapple with flesh and blood issues, like divorce and rejection, and don't come to cheap, easy answers. Jared and Eden are fascinating--just when you think you know what one of them is going to do next they surprise you. This keeps the pages turning. The setting of Montana is richly drawn, lending the book a rare atmospheric quality. In a way, Montana is almost a character in itself. The ending is perfect. Instead of giving every last detail away, and thereby robbing the reader of using his or her imagination, Bergren allows us to come to our own conclusions. Don't get me wrong--the ending is satisfying, but it's not pat or unrealistic. Reading Jared and Eden's story did what good fiction is supposed to do. The Bridge helped me make sense of my own story through in-depth characterizations and a plot rooted in real life.

Intrique, Depth, and Insights to Agape Love

The Bridge is an excellent book of great insights into the true nature of God's love. As God works in this story, every Fruit of the Spirit, i.e. love, joy, self-control, etc., is evident. The vivid imagery makes the characters so real that one may expect to look up and see them. As the main character, Jared, grows closer to the Lord, he also grows more uncomfortable with his former worldly pursuits. Eden's faith is tested as she risks confronting her greatest fears. This love story shows that the Christian walk is an ever growing experience.
