Carl scooped her up, lifting her off her feet. "Carl, please, I'll hurl again " He let her down softly and kissed her forehead. "I heard some news today that you might be interested in." He whispered to her.
Mavis looked at him curiously. "And, what's that?" She waited patiently for the answer.
"Let's see." He said teasing her. "John Mark has proposed to Lily." Mavis' look told him that she already known that. "Todd and Lavinia are getting married and Gideon proposed to Molly." Now, that surprised his wife and she went to say so..
"I'm not done." Carl said. "Marshal Merrick has asked the Randolph woman to walk out with him and Marshal Earl Mayhew is showing an interest in Carolyn Shoop."
"Whoa " Mavis looked shocked for a moment. "Maybe it is in the water." She said with awe in her voice.
As they headed for their own home, Carl spoke under his breath. "Well, I suppose all's well that ends well."
