Delightful Read

Morgan Blakely doesn't much care if his uncle's deathbed confession is for real or just a fever talking, because if he can make others believe it, it will provide the means for revenge against the family that has cost his own so much. Armed with information (accurate or not), Morgan sets out to locate the long lost "Lady Caroline" whose parents were murdered when she was just a child. Caroline Monday's has not been an easy life. If nothing else, growing up in an orphanage and finding work in an asylum, she's proven herself to be a survivor. When Morgan Blakely arrives at the asylum and presents an opportunity that will allow her to leave the asylum for good and, in the end, be independent, she jumps at the chance. Her one stipulation is that she gets to bring her friends along with her. Morgan and Caroline each have an agenda but have to work together so that they can each achieve their desired result but when feelings start developing and sparks start to fly, will they be able to put aside their feelings and get the job done? Will all be lost when the truth of Caroline's identity is discovered? Once again Ms. Michaels has created fun, lovable characters. Even the secondary character are endearing. Both "Aunt" Leticia with her "natural" turbans, and Ferdie with his poems, bring additional charm and lightness to the story. The Bride of the Unicorn is a reissue but whether you've read it before or not, if you're looking for a good, enjoyable read, The Bride of the Unicorn won't disappoint.

Back of the book

Morgan Blakely, Marquis of Clayton: With a soul as dark as his raven black hair, England's most notorious spy had finally discovered a means of revenge against the man who betrayed him on the battlefields of France. That 'means' was a lovely, blonde haired girl who just might pass as the long lost Lady Caroline, rightful heir to the Wilburton fortune.. if he could convince the cheeky rag doll to trust his risky scheme.Caroline Monday: From the dank and gloomy Glynde orphanage, to serving as an attendant to a dotty old lady and an ever rhyming dwarf, Caroline had survived with her spirit intact. Now a stranger who hid his hurts behind a handsome, impassive face offered her not only the rainbow, but he pot of gold at the end of the it. Caroline didn't believe Morgan Blakely's claim that she was really a lost heiress. Yet suddenly she wanted a chance to become that lady with all her heart.. in order to find a way to win Morgan's for her own.
