The Bride of Paraty

There is an old story that people tell in the town of Paraty. A beautiful bride died on her wedding day and was buried in her dress and veil. After her death, the image of the bride appeared on the Santa Rita pier. Even in her death, the bride has a strange hold over the town. Many see her walking the streets of the city at night. While the bride of Paraty may be a myth, something is certainly stalking the city. Every August, a serial killer emerges from hibernation and takes a life. This August, the people of Paraty are determined to stop the killings. Spurred on by a newcomer in their midst, an unorthodox series of investigators team up to get to the bottom of this unfolding mystery. A churro seller, a retired police chief, a lawyer, an atheist bum, a photographer, an American, and more meet to share their ideas and try to unravel the tangled web the killer has created. It won't be easy. Everything about the killer is an enigma. Will they be able to stop the killings in time, or is this destined to become just another bloody August with no end in sight?
