The Brick House: The curse of Hope Island (The David Morgan series)

The Brick House: The Curse of Hope Island - Business wise things were going very well for David Morgan and his team of old home renovation experts. Well enough for David and his wife Kate to think about buying a weekend getaway home. Finding the perfect getaway home means it has to be close enough for an easy weekend commute, and they think they found the perfect home. They both fall in love with a small island in the middle of Delaware Bay, roughly half way between their home state of New Jersey and the lovely beaches of southern Delaware. Travel with them to lovely Hope Island as they begin their house hunting and are drawn to a true original, The Brick House. The Brick House has neither heat, nor any water in its ancient and very limited plumbing, and there never has been any electricity running through its long forgotten walls. The Brick House has no human beings currently living inside; in fact, no one has walked its empty rooms for the past twenty-two years. Yet the Brick House still remains as beautiful today, as it did the day it was built in 1834.Heat and electricity create a kind of "atmosphere" inside a house. When a house is abandoned, the lack of an atmospheric bubble inside allows it to go to ruin quickly, because it becomes one with the outside atmosphere. When a house loses its protective bubble inside, for lack of a better term, it loses its fight to survive. The absence of someone living inside the home may in reality be the most significant reason that the house goes to ruin so quickly. Without people living inside, a house is no longer a home. It becomes just a building. Is the Brick House just a building, or is it still a home to someone? Join David and Kate Morgan as they explore its storied history and burst the dangerous bubble inside The Brick House.
