A soldier is recovering from an injury in a remote village in the Aracena mountains, in southern Spain, when he is accused by the Civil Guard of a crime he didn't commit.

The situation takes a radical turn when he is forced to help solve not just one crime, but several. The killer always uses the same method to kill his victims. The Aracena Civil Guard mobilizes all its troops, adding the soldier.

There is a serial killer who is turning the roads in the Aracena mountains red with blood.

The victims have no apparent relationship, and bodies keep appearing. The soldier soon finds himself implicated in a life-or-death situation, but his way of thinking and acting has nothing to do with the Civil Guard.
