When the body of a local barista and and art student, Leticia Molloy, washes up at a local surf spot, it stuns the close knit neighborhood where she grew up. Joe Rivas, an LAPD Homicide detective is in charge of the investigation, but his close friends, Oscar(Oz) Navarro, an unemployed former investigative reporter, and Leti's mother, Jenny Molloy, convince him to let them be unofficially involved in the hunt. The trail leads to a globally recognized drug manufacturer and an Albanian organized crime ring. Jenny's mother, mama Lupita, a Chiricahua Apache from Arizona, has been through her own wars and is there at the finish.
