Book: The Boy Who Had WingsBook Reviewer: AbiThe Boy Who Had Wings by Jane Yolen is an exiting adventure story about a family with three boys, one who was born with wings (Aetos was his name.) Aetos' father was scared and nervous about Aetos' wings (he thought they were a punishment from the evil spirits) and ran away with his horses taking them farther and farther into the mountains. But then a snowstorm started and he got trapped in an ice cave. After a few days the eldest brother said he would go and try to find and save their father. He came back with nothing the next day. The middle brother said he would go and save the father. After two days he also came back with nothing. Then Aetos said," I'll go and find him, I have wings!" So he flew over mountains and snow-covered hills. You have to read the book to find out what happens next in the book! I think that the illustrations really helped me understand it (they were very colorful and descriptive). I recommend this book to ages 2 to 6 for read aloud and 6 and up for silent reading.
