A cross-country road-trip with your nemesis to attend (and stand up in) your best friend's wedding-what could possibly go wrong? Oh, yeah, you could end up doing the one thing your bestie asked you not to do and fall in love with her brother.
The characters are easy to like, and it's easy to relate to them. How many of us knew the pretty boy in high school? The untouchable guy who had it all. The all-star American athlete who got away with everything. The guy who broke your heart and acted like it was just another notch in our belt. Almost every girl has had a crush on that guy-and some of us end up hating him. Samantha's feelings are very relatable. It was easy to get inside her head and feel what she was feeling in the moment...because I've been that girl. It's harder for me to see Tristan as he's depicted because that's not how I see most of the guys I went to high school with.
What will happen? Will they realize they are meant for each other? Will Samantha risk her friendship with Renee because of her feelings for Tristan? Is Tristan really the sweet down-to-earth he seems to be or is he playing with Samantha's head?
The only complaint I have is that it is not dual POV and the flashbacks happen a little too often- and there's really no sense of closure from the epilogue. I'm hoping that the next book will expand on what happened to them a little bit more.
