Justice rides with Jud Ostenberg - but this time it's personal.
Judson Ostenberg is known throughout Texas as a formidable bounty hunter. Most outlaws he brings in are dead. This raises eyebrows in the small town of Gonzales.
His contentious relationship with Sheriff Conwell eventually forces Jud to leave town, to continue his trade elsewhere.
But fate deals a cruel hand six months later when he learns his two young nieces back in Gonzales, Mollie and Tinnie, have been abducted. A ransom note lists demands for their safe return.
Reluctantly returning to Gonzales, Jud confronts the sheriff, who grudgingly allows him to stay to help in the search.
A certain rancher, a man known for his hot temper, gambling debts, and a brewing feud with his brother Emmett, becomes Jud's sole focus.
Without proof though, even Jud's considerable skills are useless.
Now, with time running out and his nieces' lives at stake, Jud must navigate the treacherous landscape of Gonzales, relying on his wits and honed instincts to rescue his family before it's too late. Will he get there in time?
