Eleven-year-old, Nya Sky, is an inquisitive budding journalist who dreams of becoming a famous field reporter living in the most unlikely of places, the famous 5th Avenue flagship, Barnes & Noble bookstore in New York City. As Nya fiercely works to obtain her first interviews with customers and build her home in Barnes & Noble, she plays to beat the clock as she must accomplish these goals before 3:00 pm when her family will leave the store to continue exploring NYC. The assistant manager, Jeffrey Proper quickly detests Nya and becomes annoyed with her questions, the disturbance of his customers with her interviews, and the building of her ridiculous home in the store so, he sets out to stop her. A cat and mouse chase ensue between the two adversaries as Nya tries to realize her dreams.
