The Book of Toby is a story of friendship, adventure, and love told by an unlikely hero. Toby is a recent college graduate with no job prospects. He agrees to undertake a "quest" on behalf of his father that carries him through rural Indiana in the company of a large, charismatic man in Amish garb to the home of his father's survivalist friend. Although this odyssey is set in modern times, The Book of Toby is loosely based on an ancient tale: the deuterocanonical Book of Tobit - the Old Testament's "Once Upon A Time" love story.
