Battles with BraveHeart, intrigues involving the pope, secret societies... this is not the latest Hollywood epic, but the story of the Thwing family, originally 'Thwenge' but now often spelled as 'Twing'. Members of the Thwing family are among the oldest occupants of the King's Chapel cemetery in what is now downtown Boston. In fact, there are 16 Thwings in King's Church cemetery, 5 named Martha, 3 named Mary. They are all buried in the same area, which is kind of interesting given that they were buried there starting in 1690 and ending in 1794.The Book of Thwing was originally published in 1883 by Walter Elliot Thwing. It is reproduced here for the benefit of those who would like a paper copy and enhanced with notes from family members from the last century, to indicate how some of the people born in the late 1800's have passed away, for example.
