The Book of Mormon hardcover

I ordered this book as very good condition well when it came it looked like it had survived 80 years in the attic at grandmas and it was engraved with some weirdos name an d it had a whole letter written on the inside cover also it was annotated and like I said it’s in horrible condition I do not recommend.

Learning the True Nature of God

I first read the Book of Mormon at age 25. Hand-in-hand with the Holy Bible, this book has deepened my understanding of Jesus Christ and His mission to redeem all mankind. The writing style is similar to that of the Holy Bible in that the spiritual lessons are interwoven with the life stories of God's people. In the case of the Book of Mormon, the reader follows a group of Israelites who leave Jerusalem in 600 BC, not long before it is conquered by Babylon. As the book follows this group of people for the next 1000 years, we learn how the Lord loves and guides his people, both when they are obedient and when they are not. Jesus Christ even makes a personal appearance after His resurrection and ascension in the Holy Land. I encourage readers to explore the similarities and differences of between His words in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon.

The "Awesome Edition"

My wife is a convert to the church and was having a hard time reading the scripture and understanding it well. I decided to get this edition to see if it would help and it really did. There are some great commentaries and explinations at the bottom of each page. It makes reading the B.O.M. more fun and enjoyable too. I highly recommend this to anyone really.

The book of mormon for latter day families

We have started using this as scripture study and it has helped us very much to understand the contents of the scriptures. I read this to my children and we stop to read the thought provoking questions that the author has put at the bottom. He also puts the meaning of words at the bottom which helps us understand. We love it as a family and will be getting The New Testament in the same format. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.

Interesting reactions

I find that the different reactions people have after reading The Book of Mormon are very interesting. Generally there are two kinds, people that feel it is true and people how think its false. Those stuck in the middle, who don't know and aren't sure, they really havn't read the book. The very first time I read the book I found some parts very difficult to understand while other sections really drew me in and held my attention quite well. After reading it I had a strong sense that it was a true book. Overall the Book of Mormon is a very interesting read, I have read the book about eight times and each time have found something new and interesting that I had not seen before. The book is a general history of God's dealings with people on the American contienent from about 600 B.C. until about 400 A.D.. Mormon was a prophet who lived cerca 400 A.D. his compiling of several different records make up the majority of the text in this book(a sort of reader's digest). There are several diffent stories that enertwine and ultimately climax at the apperence of Jesus Christ. This apperance to the people here in the Americas is after his death and resurection in Jurselem. The book goes on to tell that after His appearce the people lived in a perfect society untill their rejection of His teachings caused the destruction of their soceity. Several interesting simularities can be drawn from the societies in the Book of Mormon to that of our own today. Overall the Book of Mormon is a very good read. The stories are very engageing and take several interesting twists. There are parts though that are hard to understand patience is required. To truely understand the Book of Mormon one must also read and understand the Bible. A good understanding of the Old Testament is especially important. I would sugest also finding someone with wich to discuss the Book, there are many Mormons who are quite willing to answer quetions. If that is not for you there have been several books that are quite objective on the subject. Read it, study it, ponder its meaning and come to your own conclusions.
