I created the Family Study Journals to help my family study the scriptures. I decided to make it available to everyone. My hope is that others will find it a useful tool as well.For years we would gather together as a family and just read the scriptures. We began to realize that we needed to do more than just read, we needed to "study." The problem, for us, was we didn't know how to read, study, and discuss the scriptures as a family in a reasonable amount of time.The Family Study Journals were created to help our family get more out of our family scripture reading. My desire is to help the readers better understand the scriptures and learn how to apply the teaching in their lives.I chose to do very little explaining of the scriptures. Instead, I chose to ask thought provoking questions intended to make the reader think about what is going on and draw their own conclusions. If you are using this guide as a family or in a group, the questions are great for discussions.I sincerely hope you find your scripture reading time to be more fun, informative, and meaningful than ever before. It will take longer to read through the scriptures, but it will be worth it!
