Mail correspondence is a dying art, but there are still some who practise this special, genuine, and kind gesture-one of whom is Helen Calverley. Over the years, after reading a good book or watching a moving performance, Helen wrote to the author or entertainer to express her admiration and appreciation for their work. The Book of Letters is a collection of those personal letters-all enthusiastic, thoughtful, and charming.

Through her letters, Helen has curated a list of prominent Canadian literature. Along with providing book reviews, the letters offer endearing insights into some well-known Canadian authors, such as Carol Shields and Sandra Birdsell.
