Faith, Love, and Hope: An Exegetical Commentary on James

This verse-by-verse commentary on the book of James from the New Testament was compiled by Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, past president of AMG International and AMG Publishers. Faith

I was very pleased with my experience. Although the book was used it was represented as like new...which it was.

An enriching look at a living faith

Zodhiates will be blessed for telling us ordinary Christians what the Bible means in terms of the practical application of our faith. Once again, his treatment of the original Greek text, and the contextualisation thereof, has the same effect on the understanding of these texts that a restorer has on an old and damaged painting. It removes the old muck, the layers of misinterpretation and biased application and reveals an almost new work. Zodhiates is not a revolutionary in the contemporary sense of the word; he just sheds the brightest possible light on old material, thereby changing your perspective on and appreciation for the old truths. His understanding of the emotional life of a Christian, particularly about anger, reveals a depth of analysis I have not encountered before. And his treatment of the text with respect to that most difficult and controvertial of topics, predestination, was the freshest I have ever encountered. The entire book is worth reading just for these few lines: he seems to disagree with both Calvin and Geisler and opts for a totally new interpretation which begs prayerful pondering. It is part of the chapter "God's will for man". I wish Zodhiates would right an exegesis of Romans, too.

Book of James

An in-depth study of one of the most useful books of the Bible. A must have for anyone who wants to see the difference between the original Greek and English languages and how we lose the true meaning of the original texts
