The Book Of Daniel is the continuing saga of the Thompson family and their trials after the fall of the United States due to a final financial crash. Although this is a standalone book, it chronicles the story of Daniel Thompson and his travels back to the family homestead in Colorado following a disastrous deadly earthquake. It is the second of four books in the Tragedy series, after the first, Tragedy's A Comin'. After surviving a deadly earthquake that has left southern California in destitute conditions, Daniel makes his way on foot while meeting and picking up companions along the way. One of those companions is Grace, an acquaintance he knew from time spent at the local gym. Grace has little time for words and finds her weapons say all that needs to be said. Daniel believes that you can talk your way through just about any situation. He finds that the world today has become something so dangerous and foreign to him that he is unsure about everything that life has taught him. Each mile takes them though trials of hunger, FEMA camps, gangs and contention within his group, so that he finds surviving from day to day is only one breath away from annihilation.
