The Book of Bones

Contained within are random pages from my sketchbook/journals evolving for well over a decade. The result is dozens of books, thousands of drawings, and mountains of notations. They involve analyzing, diagnosing, rethinking, and reconstructing the works of many of the usual suspects: Michelangelo, Pontormo, Leonardo, Tintoretto, Tieopolo, Rubens, Van Dyck, Durer, Rembrandt ad infinitum. To better grasp Bridgman, one needs to wade through Hatton and absorb Vanderpoel. Meanwhile there is much to be learned from Robert Beverly Hale, Gottfried Bammes and a host of others. The bibliography is long but I have learned much from many. I am always rethinking reference in my own terms to give me a more solid understanding of the methods involved. This process results in a visual record of my journey and the insights that helped navigate the way.
