Not a joke

I bought this as a joke because I had a bookstore coupon that I was determined to use before it expired. It's not a joke. So far we've made the Sound and the Curry; We're Here, We're Gruyere; One-Horse Open Slaw; and Shake Your Honeymaker. All of them were really good; Slaw and Honeymaker were especially good. There is what I have to assume is a typo in the Honeymaker--that should be 1/4 teaspoon or 1/4 tablespoon of vinegar, not 1/4 cup, unless the vinegar they were using was a whooooole lot more dilute than mine. You could probably use any fruity vinegar if you don't have sherry, and the date paste is great as it is but I bet it would be even better if you made it a day ahead. Only a few of them have really key ingredients mixed into the burgers so you could use premade patties or meatless burgers instead.

Great book for fans of the TV show

This book contains all the “burger of the day” specials from the show. They are actual recipes but the book is definitely more aimed at fans of the show. Each burger name mimics a common saying by turning it into burger toppings. Great graphics too!
