The Blue Pages

A lot of information here, including an overview of each category discussing how it has been affected by the recent economic downturn. Perhaps most interesting is seeing how many companies contribute financially to both parties, and have ethics violations alongside community and charitable contributions. But the book does help in making an informed decision about where to spend your money.

Spending Smarter - let your dollars be heard

This book gives you great insight into how companies lobby and contribute their profits to politicians, and it also provides information on litigation, settlements and humanitarian causes that are associated with that business. If you want your hard earned money to be directed to positive areas, with companies who use their money in a fair and balanced way, then this knowledge is power, and shopping is a fact of life. A tool to help align yopurself with companies who have the same interests, ethics and values. This book assists by giving key information in a concise and easy to read format, the index makes the search so quick and easy - it fits in your purse! It is surprising to find how much money is dropped into the political coffers by some of these companies, without regard for public good, but personal lobby gain. It is truly enlightening, and this book now assists me in making decisions to stop doing business with entities that I determine are conducting themselves outside the scope of the morality, ethics and values I hold dear. This book is easy to use, well worth referring to often (mine is in my glove compartment, and easily switched to my purse). People have the power to control where their money goes long after you leave the store or pay the bill, so it pays to be well armed with information. Know that when you shop, when you spend your money with a particular merchant, retailer, restaurant, investor etc. you are controlling and contributing to what is important and valued by 'you'.

A Must Have

This has been an excellent tool during my studies and revealed how companies are interacting in our political system. A must have for those involved in Political Science or who want to know about more about how companies are intertwined in the political process. Very surprising! A++
