The author is a native of Cuba and an American citizen whocame to the US at the age of seven. Throughout her life, she hashad the opportunity to wear many different hats career-wise. First, she worked as a legal secretary for various and sundry firms in theMiami, Florida, area for twenty-five years. This allowed her tostudy, finance, and obtain all her degrees in clinical psychology, culminating in her doctorate. She was licensed in the state of Floridaas a clinical psychologist, and retired her license in May of 2026.She has also worked as a trust specialist and later as a social studiesteacher, teaching world history to eighth graders for twenty-twoyears full-time for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, as wellas working part-time simultaneously for Children's PsychiatricCenter, which later became Institute for Child and Family Healthfor approximately thirteen years. She retired from the work forcein 2022. The author has previously dabbled at writing poetry. Shenow embarks on a new endeavor--namely, writing. The Blue Ball, a book for young children, is her first book. It is her hope that allchildren and their parents enjoy it.
