A darkly sarcastic yet humorous gothic fantasy. The 'Blood Prince' introduces Stephen: prince of the Vorstang Dynasty and rather reluctant vampire. The story describes his coming of age as a fully fledged vampire along with the added pressure of dealing with an invasion of psycotic werewolves. Set in a pseudo Rumania of the middle-ages where 'monsters' as well as other non-human races are the norm, Stephen tries to balance the expectations of his bloodsucking despotic family whilst retaining a sense of integrity (and remain in one piece...). Written in a 'Pratchett-esque' style, the 'Blood Prince' combines humour and fantasy with a dash of horror in order to supply the perfect escape hatch from the modern world.
