During the Boston Marathon on 13th April 2013, two bombs go off, twelve seconds apart near the finishing line. Jack and Catherine find themselves at the center of the carnage. Jack works for the Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) while Catherine works for an altogether different organization that deals in the supernatural. While the investigation continues, they discover that the Black Widow (a wicked vampire) joined hands with terrorists.
