A Great Way to Learn Our History

This book is a great way to learn our history. Carl Senna does a great job researching the history of the black press. Senna starts with the first black newspaper to the present day, tying in important events in America's history to the black press'influnce on it. African-American youth learns why the first black newspaper was started and how the black press started the civil rights movement. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and not only for classroom purposes, but for every day purposes also.
