The Black Man Who Refused to Fail: Chief Master Sergeant George E. Dixon (Retired)

Follow the development of a teenage gas station attendant from rural southern Louisiana to flights around the world. By age seventeen, he was a skilled mechanic. While in the US military, he accomplished amazing things. He restored a B-29 Bomber that flew 105 missions in the Korean War; invented a boiler system (hot-water shower system); was a crew chief for maintaining B-52 Bombers; and saved three B-57s and human lives. Read about a man who was in a school system that thought knowing how to count to one hundred was all he needed to know about numbers. Everything he did was in loyalty to the United States military. He also tried to improve himself and the military as much as he could. It has been a sincere pleasure to write this book. It has been awesome to tell the story of my uncle, Chief Master Sergeant George E. Dixon (Retired). I came away with a sense of pride, understanding, and a closer alliance to him and his life. I hope you enjoy reading his biography as much as I enjoyed researching and writing the story. His mother played an important role in his life. She supported him from the valleys to the mountaintops of his life. His dad also shaped his life in many ways. His love for the outdoors, fishing, and hunting were instilled in him by his dad.
