"Christmas is the birth of all promise for mankind." ~Clifford F. Boyle The Birth of Christmas is a vintage celebration of spiritual imagery and classic writing in order to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas. Clifford Boyle is the author of many short stories and he is also known for his screenplays. He has written this book in a poetic form known as the Shakespearean sonnet sequence. "VII. And then a star burned brightly in the night, To light the darkness and to point the way. Three wise men had been given heaven's sight, To walk as if the night had changed to day. They carried gifts, as precious as their joy, Of frankincense, and myrrh, and even gold, for they knew when they saw the precious boy The new world would be different from the old." The vintage photographs of children dressed as angels are truly adorable and gives a sense of innocence and hope to the story. Since early sonnets were sometimes set to music, you may want to read this book while listening to Christmas music. ~The Rebecca Review

I think this book is absolutely beautiful and I am giving a number of copies as Christmas presents. The poetry describing the birth of Christ is quite moving, and the old fashioned photographs of little girls dressed as angels are great.
Excellent Christmas Gift!
