Good, but could do better

This book was very interesting and amusing - inspiring even at times - but very badly let down by the lack of proper maps showing where exactly the author sailed. Despite this, well worth reading.

This was a gift for my husband, & he loved it. He had a hard time putting it down, & finished it an a few days.

This is a book for those who enjoy travel stories. It has enough technical talk to match the fact that the author was also learning as he progressed, and is as entertaining as the experience he had in his travels. Worth reading.

Best Sea Story, filled with challenge and good humor

This is a great book about sailing and learning about the sea and the good and generous folks who live on it and near it. I recommend this book to anyone who sails. It is especially helpful for beginners who might think we're the only ones experiencing scary moments and question our resolve to become sailors. Lee's energy and humor are memorable and encouraging examples of the best of the sport. I met Lee Hughes when he sailed into Annapolis. Like so many others who became his new-found friends, I was impressed by his adventure and loved his stories. He relates quite accurately and fully all that I saw during his time on the Chesapeake Bay so I know his tales are not taller than the man himself. Lee's writting reminds me of Farley Mowat's wonderful stories of the Canadian Artic. Having read all of Lee's books, I'm only wondering what in the world he'll do next, and when can I get my hands on his next tale of daring and adventure!
